Dawes.

I've been gone for a while. Mostly because I'm lazy. But the other part of the mostly is because I've been working a job that allows very little time to enjoy the finer things in life. Like, ya know, looking at stuff online and posting pictures and writing about what you think about what you think about those pictures. Tonight the post is special. I've been out of town for 2 1/2 weeks. I went to Texas to visit my family. I went to LA to visit my friends. And when I returned to New York, I was reminded why this is the place for me. Tonight I was informed about one of my new favorite bands, Dawes. There's something southern about them. There's southing west coast about them. Their harmonies take you out of where you are. For instance, currently they have been taking me to home. A place where warmth and summertime and windows rolled down and the hot sun are shining down through my windows. It's the perfect blend of blues, soul, country and harmonious wonderment. The drummer is the 19 year old brother of the lead singer. He's the star of the band. He plays the drums with his tongue hanging out like he's a ADD menetally challenged person who just discovered his arms. Here is a pic from an apartment show they did in Brooklyn tonight. We were sitting the front. It sounded great and awesome. Graweosome. The band's called Dawes. It would be in your best interest to check them out.
